School Starts tomorrow!

I didn't realize that I have not written in 4 weeks!  I thought it had been 2!  Sorry!!!
Well, the project I started 4 weeks ago is complete! :)  We finished painting all the walls in the bedroom and I picked out new carpet and my hubs installed it! The dogs love it so much better than their nails clacking on the plywood.
I can't believe That I have already had pre-planning and the first day of school is tomorrow! This year, my son will be in 4th and my daughter starts kindergarten!  She will be right across the hall from me. I have a feeling, she will be coming to visit when she is supposed to be going to the restroom!  Its a lot different trying to get 2 kids ready for the first day of school!  For those of you who know me, I would rather have my nose in a book, but today I am making sure I have all my first day books, chair pockets washed, and the kids backpacks packed! I am very thankful that I have already taken all their school supplies to school!  One less thing I have to worry about! Well, I hear the dryer is finished with towels, so I guess I better go throw my chair pockets in to dry!  To those who start back to school this week......GOOD LUCK!!!!  It's going to be a GREAT Year!!!!

Home Project

With 4 weeks until I go back to school, I decide to start a huge home project! Why?  I have NO idea!!  o we have lived in our house for 12 years and have done nothing to out Master Bedroom. Until now....  We have ripped up the Gross carpet - down to the plywood until I decide on new carpet. Its a lot better than the gross carpet, but the dogs hate it!  Picked paint for the walls - a warm caramel color - walls have been white for 12 years, and we rearranged the furniture and bought new bedding! I'm excited, but painting is a lot of work! I am cutting in the wall for my hubs and then he gets home from work and rolls the wall. 1 wall down, 3 to go!  If I can figure out how, I will post a picture when its done! :)

5 Weeks

WOW!  I just looked at the calendar and I go back to school 5 weeks from today. Yes, teachers go back on July 29th with Meet and Greet on August 1st. First day of school for me is August 5th, which is my son's 9th birthday!
I guess I better stop reading my romance novels and get working on more items to put on my Teachers pay Teacher sight. Come Follow Me!  I am listed under my name, Nikki Mason.

About me!

I think teaching kindergarten is in my blood and in my heart. I started teaching 3 and 4 year olds at a family owned daycare just 6 months out of high school. I Loved it!  The owner paid for me to get my CDA degree so I could teach the GA Lottery Pre-K and I did. Loved doing that as well. So I taught Pre-K during the day and went to school at night to get my degree. I just knew in my heart that teaching younger kids was my calling. It took me 10 years from graduating high school before I graduated college, but I did it!  When I got the call to teach Kindergarten, I was speechless, which if you know me is a very hard task!  I was so ready!
I am venturing into my 11th year of teaching Kindergarten and I don't want to do anything else!  During these past 10 years, many things have changed, but one thing that has not changed is my love for kindergarten!
I am happily married and I have two kids. My son Garrett will be 9 on the first day of school (August 5th) and is entering the 4th grade. My daughter Taylor is 5 and will be entering Kindergarten right across the hall from me.
I am so excited to share my adventures with you. Every up and down with common core and some really cool ideas. As you can tell from my title, I love to snicker or laugh at myself and the kids. Hey, if you can't laugh at yourself, then why laugh?
